Metals and steel
Steel and Metals Flatbed Trucking
Steel is heavy, dangerous when it shifts and ruined by rust. We haul coil, plate, pipe and structural steel on flatbeds and Conestogas, secured to code and covered when it needs it.
Common problems
What gets in the way of metals & steel freight
Securement
The problemCoil and plate are dense, and a load that shifts is a safety hazard.
How we handle itDrivers chain every load to federal cargo securement rules and recheck it on the road.
Rust and weather
The problemFinished steel and coil rust when they get wet, and the buyer rejects them.
How we handle itWe tarp open-deck steel before it rolls, or haul it on a Conestoga that covers the whole load.
Weight limits
The problemA few coils reach the legal limit, and bad placement overloads an axle.
How we handle itWe plan the weight and its placement on the deck before loading.
Mill schedules
The problemMills ship on their own timetable and expect a truck when the steel is ready.
How we handle itWe plan pickups around mill shipping hours, and dispatch stays reachable around the clock.

Questions
Metals & steel shipping, answered
Do you haul steel coil?
Yes. Coil rides on a flatbed, chained to federal cargo securement rules and tarped when it needs protection from rain.
How do you prevent rust on steel loads?
We tarp open-deck steel before it leaves the mill, or haul it on a Conestoga that covers the whole load.
What steel products do you haul?
Coil, plate, pipe and tube, structural beams, rebar and finished sheet. Send the product, piece count and weight with your quote request.
Do you pick up at steel mills?
Yes. We run lanes from steel markets such as Burns Harbor, Pittsburgh, Birmingham and Mobile, and we plan pickups around mill hours.
Do you haul oversize steel?
We haul legal-size loads on flatbeds and Conestogas. For anything over legal width or height, ask dispatch before you book.
