Migway's Growth Results - 2021
The turn of the year is the time we all set our goals for the upcoming year and take time to reflect on the previous year. Most of us use this time to look back on the year to celebrate our victories and to learn from our shortcomings. 2021 was an eventful year for all of us and Migway saw our most impressive growth this year! Let's take a look back on the previous year:
2021 Plans
At the beginning of 2021, our goal for the year was to add more trucks to the fleet, and at the end of the year, we grew over 50% and hired new talent, increasing our office staff from 20 to 50! We can say that this year's Christmas party was a lot more packed than last year!
We also made plans to improve our drivers' experience with us by giving them more reasons to be proud to work with Migway. We did this by making drastic changes in our internal operations, which streamlined the dispatch process and helped us resolve issues in common problem areas such as detention, time off, and making sure each driver was home on time for the holidays. We can say that each driver, that requested to be home, made it home this year!
What makes a trucking company successful?
In 2020, Migway did not lower the pay of any driver when the market was at its worst and companies were going out of business. This past year we chose to do something more creative by giving our drivers a shot at seeing the Carolina Panthers play from Migway's upper-level suite in the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte! Another big change we made was in operations where we created the driver manager role so that dispatchers could plan loads and drivers would have a sole point of contact, whose only focus throughout the day is to make sure their driver can drive without worry or distraction.
We also increased our social media presence by completely rebranding ourselves online. Another accomplishment we are proud of from the previous year is the amount of female and veteran drivers we were able to hire to run with us! As you can see, there was a lot to do for the year and we're grateful to have accomplished each milestone that was planned at the beginning of the year! 2021 Results Migway was awarded more awards this year than any year prior! We jumped to rank #1690 from #2096 on the Inc. 5000 list. We were also recognized on Charlotte's very own Business Journal Fast 50 for the 50 fastest growing companies in the Charlotte area! Migway already has a headstart into 2022 with our nomination for the Best Fleets to Drive For award. We're grateful to be recognized for our fast growth, but our favorite award we won last year was the Great Place to Work certification! The Great Place to Work award is an award given to businesses with outstanding employee reviews and tells us that we are doing something right!
2022 Plans
We are as excited for 2022 as you are! This year we plan to continue growing the Migway fleet and continue building a wonderful work environment for our employees. We plan to increase the portion of loads our fleet runs for our customers. With the goal of growing 75% this year, we plan to improve safety ratings, increase our customer and driver satisfaction, and reduce truck downtime in the shop. There's lots of work to be done this year to become the best trucking company and we couldn't be more excited for the plans we have ahead!
